Tinted Sunscreen

Tinted sunscreen combines ultraviolet filters with mineral pigments that provide sheer cosmetic coverage and can reduce the visible white cast associated with some sunscreens. Many formulas contain iron oxides, which add colour and may improve protection against visible light, an important consideration for people concerned about dark spots and uneven-looking skin tone. Choose a broad-spectrum formula with a suitable protection factor, shade, finish and texture for your skin type. Apply it generously and evenly as sunscreen rather than using only the small quantity typically applied as makeup, and reapply according to the label, especially after swimming, sweating or towel drying. Tinted sunscreen helps even the appearance of the complexion but does not replace foundation when fuller coverage is desired.
